New Reviews: Michael Chabon, Bradley Denton, Robin McKinley September 11, 2005 (2:10 AM) ( link ) ADDED reviews of Michael Chabon's The Final Solution, Bradley Denton's Buddy Holly Is Alive and Well on Ganymede, and Robin McKinley's Sunshine.
Those were some good books. I think I'm getting better at picking these things.
I have finished (i.e., given up on) Gene Wolfe's The Knight, and will be proceeding to take on the herculean task of Dorothy Dunnett's six-book Lymond Chronicles. But if that series isn't any good, I'll stop at the first book.
New Reviews: Three of them September 1, 2005 (1:39 AM) ( link ) ADDED reviews of Michael Crichton's The Terminal Man, Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe, and Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife.
I've read a surprising number of really great books this year: Niffenegger's is just one example (though more discerning readers may disagree with my assessment). Within a week or so I should be posting up my top ten list; unlike this time last year, I'll actually have ten books, with several runner ups.
