New Reviews: Daniel Handler's The Basic Eight and Christopher Priest's The Prestige December 2, 2005 (9:12 PM) ( link ) ADDED new reviews of Christopher Priest's The Prestige and Daniel Handler's The Basic Eight. Both were simply superb.
In case you hadn't noticed, I gave up on Italo Calvino's If on a winter's night a traveler. I understand it's important, but god damn, was it boring.
My next book--on which I have made only intermittent progress--is Ian McDonald's Terminal Cafe. It's a science-fiction book about, er, nanotechnology and dead people. Or something like that. I don't really understand it very well myself at the moment.
